Everyone drives through River Oaks in December. Almost nobody sees it from an open vehicle with the canopy lit and a cooler at their feet.
It's a slower, warmer ride than the bar routes — more looking, fewer stops, coffee and Baileys instead of a beer flight. Families and neighborhood groups book it as much as party crews do.
Dates open up in the fall and the good weekends go fast. Get on the list early.
Still 21+ and still BYOB. The lights route runs under the same rules as every other tour — cans and plastic only, everybody signs a waiver, and nobody under 21 rides.
It can be 70 degrees on the 20th and 38 on the 21st. The canopy keeps rain off but the bike is open at the sides, and you're moving.
Easier to take one off than to spend two hours wishing you'd brought one.
